Scania divests Hedenlunda Castle and Conference Centre

Scania CV AB has divested Hedenlunda Castle and Conference Centre.

The transaction was conducted through sale of the property owning company Hedenlunda Fastighetsaktiebolag AB. The buyer is Intressentor Hotell Aktiebolag, which since previously runs Badhotellet Konferens & SPA AB in Tranås. The buyer accessed the property on 11 January 2010.

Hedenlunda Castle is located in the midst of Sörmland, between Flen and Nyköping, approximately 130 kilometres south of Stockholm. The property has a land area of 384,227 sq.m., a lettable area of 5,706 sq.m. and comprises 57 hotel rooms. The operation of the conference business has for four years been taken care of by Fazer Amica. The contract with Fazer Amica is terminated in connection with the accession. The buyer plans to resume the hotel and conference business after a brief period of refurbishments.

The main building at Hedenlunda Castle was completed in 1780. In addition to the castle the property comprises wings, a gymnasium, ancient official residences as well as conference facilities. Hedenlunda Castle has been used as a conference centre since 1972, and holds various types of premises. The largest hall can house up to 400 people.
